I thought he made the case for being the market leaders in the large battery format because of the safety and cost issues.

One bonus, he stated that they did not have to pay the 8% royalty fee on the Manganese batteries. That should help the Gross Margin vs. Cobalt battery makers.

Herbert>From my notes and recollection Lev said they have a very strong patent portfolio on both manganese and cobalt, among the advantages to VLNC are safety, larger batteries, no royalty requirements, and packaging advantages associated with their manganese battery. It was my understanding they would aggressively pursue patent violations on both types of batteries if they are brought to market. Other highlights from my notes>>>a large part of the increased burn rate is for equipment purchased over the last two quarters>>>>batteries are far exceeding 500cycles>>>going forward they will have money available from several sources if they need it>>>>>>>patent portfolio is over 400 in some stage of aquisition>>>>>>>>Lev has defined batteries as a device which powers a unit and can have a variable number of cells. the two lines in NI are capable of producing 4-5 laptops/min and 10-25 small (cellphone)/min>>>>>>Japanese batteries are less safe, slower production rates, cobalt, inferior announced specs>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>at this time they only have plans to sell laminate to Hanil and Alliant. Please excuse me if I had a misunderstanding of any statements Lev made. duckster
