Steve,

Interesting speculations, and interesting information. One comment I have is in your computation of the growth rate of the subscriber base. I find it difficult to imagine the mechanism by which the growth rate of the subscriber base would be compounded. That would imply some sort of activity like ongoing recruiting efforts by existing subscribers.

Steve, I think this was one of the first questions I posed to people on the AOL thread. How big would we imagine this company needs to be if it were able to support current valuations?

And I think that your observation about the linear relationship of advertising to membership is valid. So I think you need to query Mary Pugh, she is a true believer (but you must limit her access to caffeine).
