RE:<Expect further drops in K6-2-400 pricing ...until $107>
Why would AMD do that? AMD is selling all they can make at parity, since Intel appears to be unable to make many Celeron 400's or is purpopsely limiting their production until oversupply of Pentium II 350 and 400 machines is worked off.

Paul - RE: "This puts them cheaper than 400 MHz Celeron PPGAs by $2 - so expect further drops on the K6-2 until the 25% "delta" is reached - about $107 for the K6-2 400 MHz."

AMD has never stated they will price the K6-2 25% lower than the Celeron.

RE: "Since AMD talks about 50% of their Q199 product shipments to be 350 MHz and above, such a low ASP on the 350 MHz Part pretty much assures a DROP in AMD ASPs this quarter FROM $89 last quarter."

From the conference call, I got these notes. Vast majority above 350MHz. At least 34% above 400MHz.

While it isn't safe to take ASP info from the CC into account, I think it is safe to take production numbers from it.
