Steve Case just said in San Francisco that the open-access formula touted by ATHM is not good enough for AOL.

Sounds like he wants to go the way of Apple. Or does AOL's proprietary angle take out the .html standard...? :-)

As I have stated many times they will do it in emulation of T-TCI-ATHM. It will be something like SBC-TWX-AOL@RR. Since the FCC has made the unimaginable good decision to proceed with a free market decision (to the chagrin of Frank), AOL has no other choice. Now we have a horse race in a distinct new market called cable broadband. This solves all market definition problems including community theft of private property coming from socialistically trained fair mousketeers.
