There is no measurable "reason" for this downtrend. Therefore, no mathematical prediction is possible.

Markets are volatile these days and concerns about the DOJ may have stopped this stock from participating in yesterdays bounce. But this mood may chance without any warning and buyers will come back for the next run up.

You may like this company or not - but it produces revenues (lots of) and it will continue to do so- with or without a sanction. For a company like this there are so many chances out there to grow like never before in mans history. A lot of ambitious and skilled people working for MS and they will take these chances. That's one thing I'm sure of.

Nevertheless, the biggest downtrend since 91 melted 26% of MSFT's value (07/17/95 $ 27.250 ; 01/09/96 $ 20,047) Perhaps some of the older fellows >50 :-) reminds this and illustrate us what happened in there days. (Just for the record, about four month later, 04/19/96 it traded @ 27,438, new all-time high).

There has always been a evil and everyone knew her name (this tome they call her DOJ) when the quote went south. I am confident that she will be gone sooner or later but I'm sure the next one is already waiting around the corner (providing the smart investor with an new buying opportunity).

Thanks to all for your contribution on this thread
