A lot of you suggest E-commerce stocks here, and the E-commerce will not grow unless we can do something about the speed of getting information online.

The growth of E-commerce is depended on the growth of bandwidth/ infrastructure. I can tell you how many times when I tried to buy this and that and the page moves so slowly that I just gave up. E-commerce sites, heavy with graphics and pictures, are just plain slow, and this got to be addressed first.

This is why when I made up my list, I went heavy in the bandwidth/ infrastructure issue stocks such as CSCO, ATHM and CMTO. The bottom line is, company like CSCO, LU/ASND and others power the internet.

John,

<<When I made my list, I look for industry leaders in each field of the internet>> Is that now... or in the future? IMO, that's what investing is all about... betting on the future. If it were otherwise, most of the stocks you have picked would, IMHO, be selling for pennies. Are you old enough to remember Osborne Computer and their "state of the art" operating system? And how about the more well known Apple Computer? Somehow their gameplan failed... but they were big at the time until a better mousetrap was built by someone looking at all the flaws of the "leaders".

<<When a stock is cheap, there are two possibilities: 1) stock is overlooked; 2 ) stock is a piece of crap. Most of the cheap stocks and penny stocks; however, are craps.>> I personally believe your first possibility is as valid as your second, and you do not do your "followers" a service by telling them to put blinders on. Many "penny stocks" are overlooked simply because they do not have the market exposure... yet. But, IMO, the good companies with good management and an innovative gameplan and corporate recognition just beginning will succeed with time. Perhaps, Sir, you should not have such tunnel vision. Just my opinion.

Best always,

Marty

JOHN, I like most of the stocks in your list, such as CSCO, ATHM, MSFT. However, why do you pick risky ones like PCNTF, PTVL and CMTO? You can argue they will be the stars in the future. But who can be sure? I would say they are NOT proven companies and you will assume a lot of risk in investing in them. Why don't you select proven winners of TODAY? Good ones are Yahoo!, DELL and INTC.

Through my years of investing, I found out the following truth:
1) Do buy expensive stocks. They are expensive for a reason.
2) Do buy proven companies. PCNTF, PTVL are not bad stocks, but they are not proven.
3) It's never too late to buy good companies. You can say Yahoo is expensive, but wait till 5 years later. We will see how expensive Yahoo is today.

Just my 0.02.

John, still think IATV is crap? It hit an all time high of 25 1/4 today before succumbing to some profit taking which is understandable considering its run. You had replied that you like industry leaders in their field. Well, you better consider the emerging field of interactive television and digital convergence between the web and TV. ACTV will be a leader. John Malone will make it happen. As far as the low volume goes, you better check out the volume on IATV the last week or so. I'll come back in a couple months to remind you once again and I bet the stock is a lot higher. You've made some great picks and congrats on all of those. Just trying to remind you of one you should have looked into more closely.
