wily, Re: The first chipset's design is done, but I am not certain how far along it is in the production stage. This sentence alone sound scary for K7. Given the past experiences about Taiwanese in handling the Super 7 chipsets, may be what is said on the Register is true. Gary

The K7 will have taken a total of about 18 months to go from concept to final shipping product. As microprocessors go, that's pretty good. I'm having a very hard time believing this. I have never heard of a processor coming in anywhere close to this time frame. 3 years would be extremely good. Scumbria
