don,
as you stated,there are a high number of calls in open interest on several equities and indexes.
i was wondering what if most of those were written by investors(and not market makers,who may have even been the buyers of those calls)during the recent downturn, to get some premium against their long positions.
to add to this the money flow is strong(due to 401 k contributions by employers,today being the deadline to contribute)don't you think the scenario looks for a stonger up move towards expiration?

I'm long here playing the mo...but in all seriousness on the big picture I'm bearish.
