Re: Y2K and ecommerce growth... these are worth repeating:

Re: " I estimate that for our customers in this
situation maybe 5% of them addressed the issue in 1998,
another 20% so far year to date with the remaining 75% yet
to do anything."

Look for that remaining 75% to help FUEL Intel's Q399 and
Q499 EARNINGS REPORTS ! Paul

And, "Intel Server business will track Internet commerce growth," from Pat Gelsinger.

Get INTC while it's cheap...up we go :)

Jeff,

Great post. I didn't follow this:

"Intel server business will track Internet commerce growth."

>Now let assume for argument sake that the price/performance improves at a equal rate
(a very conservative assumption). This means that every server existing today must
be replaced on average every year. Who knows what today's server base is? This
should give a pretty good indication of the growth that Intel is targeting... <

Do you mean that every server must be replaced each year (surely not), or that the total number of servers will double each year, or ???

I'm confused.

Best Trading,
X
