What a shame look what they've done to America..I remember great guys like Joe DiMaggio and other American greats. Compare them to todays
losers, the Clintons, the con men, the media types who are corrupting our youth.

Ginny,

Nice to hear from you. I wish I could respond in like fashion, but uinfortunately I'm operating on a miniscule amount of sleep, and must head to bed shortly.

Myself, I've actually never smoked. Never even tried. Personally, I find the habit sickening. But I support the right of people to do so. .. and I can't stand the hypocrisy of some citizens and the government. . . the people who attempt to pawn off their decisions, and their difficulties on someone else. And the government, who double-dips into the pot through taxes and lawsuits, doing whatever they can to make a buck at the expense of industry.

I'm told that in some areas of California where there is a smoking ordinance. . .a cigar bar cannot even be opened up. Not even an establishment expressly INTENDED for smoking!!! This is purely ludicrous.

I look forward to discussing these issues more with you in the future, Ginny. . . but for now, its bed time!

Patrick

Ginny:

Yes the govt. is now a partner of the tobacco companies -
a partner with no equity, just a take. It clearly has more to gain
by seeing that people do continue smoking, or else it (the states)
would lose money. What a twisted form of logic, but then so much
of the thinking today does take on a warped, twisted form.
Just imagine if our govt. (the agencies and departments) were not
political - if they did the job they were designed to do, and were not
made to do the political bidding of Klinton etc. We'd have a military
that wouldn't be the cops of the world, a justice department that
might really be able to investigate and prosecute crime (no need
then for special prosecuters as it would be uneeded) an education
department that might have the education of our kids at heart and
ensure choice and quality. There would be no tobacco war, because
politics would be removed from the business of governing.
A demogoge like Klinton needs his holy war against the tobacco
companies for the same reason that tyrants need purges and
final solutions. It is the same thinking that has led to linking
the schools to the internet, while academic scores and reading
ability have declined.
Perhaps sanity on the part of individual juries might yet
save us from the political persecution. let's hope they hold the devil
at bay till the next election, when we can purge this demon from office.
It really had nothing to do with sex after all.

Best regards
