Jenna, I've had great success holding on to many stocks that have been played as a short-term hold. I also have several watch lists here in SI that I update with stocks that are discussed on my favorite threads I frequently visit. One watch list that I posted here in February: techstocks.com

Remember that one ?

Hi Jenna , I agree with the concept and with TWICK many of your picks have gone on to be great holds for intermediate to longer term holds. A permanent record of these on this thread or addendum thread would be helpful to recognize recurring patterns, especially some of your favorite earnings play that seem to fit in very well with this concept.

Now for a cup & handle formation: ATHM appears to be a perfect example of a cup&handle formation just starting to breakout, look at the 6 week formation between beginning of FEB to mid MARCH on the following day chart: iqc.com

Other indicators appear bullish also.
I think it's just started to move up into the next up leg this past week and should be good for more from here. Any thoughts?
Regards N.C.

I would be very interested in another thread that followed the picks on a longer term basis. I am having a hard time selling some of my stocks that I bought as trades because I believe there is more upside, so I have sold part and kept back a smaller position.

Jenna:

In keeping with the outstanding education we get as subscribers and non-subscribers, I would vote to implement this thread. I have kept a portfolio of street beaters that keep on going just to track such a thing.

Cup and handle breakouts are truly powerful. I used to be a bottom fisher, but it wasn't the most successful for me. As Ian Woodward teaches, "a cup without a handle will burn you". Since attending one of his seminars, I learned that for me, those kinds of breakouts are safer and more profitable.

SI has many threads that give picks, talk about specific stocks, etc. You are created a bit of a niche that educates as well.

Carry on!

cup and handle setup is happening on #7pick on 3/17 WL. Great call Jenna!!! I'd be interested if others see the same. The fundamentals are awesome and the technical chart says it all. Look especially at the volume. After a relatively small pull back in the next several days, it should continue up.
