I sent the following to Mr. Cruz, CEO of OMGA because frankly, I couldn't get the darn thing to work. I've also tried all morning to reach their Tech Support dept, but the phone is busy. I noticed that some of you got it to work but you don't seem too happy. Is anyone happy with the new Release. I may return mine if I can't get it fixed, and just use the old one.

Dear Mr Cruz:

I have been using Trade Station 4.0 for about 1 1/2 years with good success. However, I just upgraded to your latest release and wish to express my sincere dissatisfaction with your new product. Today, I spent over 3 hours trying to get it to work with zero success. Here are the problems that I encountered:

1) Since this release requires so much hard drive space, I attempted to install it on my "E" drive, but the Global Server would not start, it seems to like the "C" drive much better.

2) I use BMI, however the install program seems to think "Signal" is BMI, which of course it isn't. The Global Server wants the BMI software, but it is no where to be found.

I am a very sophisticated computer user, and at least in the past, I could get virtually anything to work; not so in this case. One would think with this extra testing that your folks did (after all the product was delayed for more than one year), it would be ready for prime time. Well, I'm sad to give you the bad news, but it needs much more work. Mr Cruz, have you, yourself tried to install this software? If so, were you successful? By the way, the release that I received is dated 3/9/99. I will contact your support department tomorrow (it's Sunday now), and try to get this resolved. But never the less, this was a big waste of my time, and could have been avoided if your people had done their jobs. If you care about your customers and wish to keep them, you will do a better job next time.

Herc, Keep in mind that a lot of TS, WOWdt and the like non Internet users are maintaining their own bases. I have a base of about 15,500 stock symbols, 14,000 stock options, 704 indices, 1700 index options, and 4,075 future symbols. Now I know it's a large base and I certainly don't trade that many :) "BUT" for use in comparisons, and scanning for special situations "options for xyz company (That only averages say 75k shares a day) trades an average 10 calls per day, maybe, today 1500, tells me to look. Now try scanning the market through the Internet for something like that, symbol by symbol at 56K :)
I run :
#1 - Twin 300s w/ 384 ram, the new IBM 18gig HD, 4 monitor setup
#2 - Twin 300s w/ 256 ram, 8gig HD, 2 monitor (testing TS, was my MBTrading platform)
#3 - Single 166 w/ 128, 2 gig HD, single (was LiveWire, now MBT, needs 2nd monitor)
I've always had my own base and perfer it that way, I'm not dependent on Web traffic and online bases that happen to go down always at the wrong time.
