If you are selling puts naked, that is very very risky.
They will probably mark to market daily. So you would need
even more money.

Selling naked puts is ONLY FOR PROS !!!

Selling a cash covered put is a conservative investment strategy according to many. I suspect that your broker either does not have enough of a history with you to permit a lower amount or is just terrified about what is going on in the tech market.<g>

Hi Craig: You might ask Don Martini what his experience has been with a broker named something like "Preferred Trades", in San Francisco. I believe he has been successfully negotiating with them, and he can tell you how he did it. I will be looking into it in about a month. I believe he has one other also, and that he has been moving away from Brown recently. He has been very helpful to me in my struggles with brokers.
