About all that vaunted alpha speed advantage...this was copied from the overclocking ng that I follow: There has been a constant in CPUs: New AMD and Cyrix chips are always rumored to be better than Intel and so far they never are. Intel rules, but the day that AMD ceases to be on Intel's heels is the day Intel prices will go "sky high". The Celeron is the best deal in personal computing history and all of us that got in on OC'ing 50% owe the die hard AMD fans because if they didn't buy 2nd rate AMD CPUs in such huge numbers Intel would never offer the deals we enjoyed this past year. And even though the OC'ing salad days appear to be waning a 433mhz Celeron for about $170 is one hella lotta crushing FPU power for small money. I think the next big thing for us Celeron fans is the MSI slokets that allow SMP with a jumper. If enough of us go dual then who knows what can happen with games... as far as anyone thinking that a dual 433 Celeron is somehow not a first quality workstation, they just don't know, because it is. There are a lot of 3D MAX and Lightwave users that are still using dual 266 and 300s. A dual 433 Celeron is a big jump. And anyone that believes Alphas are way better than Celerons don't know either. A valid test is difficult but a high end video product called Digital Fusion has such a test and my OC'ed 450 Celeron tests about 10% less than a 500mhz Alpha. Surprise, Surprise. And guess what? One of the main Digital Fusion programmers uses a dual OC'ed Celeron 450. Going dual soon: Dual Celerons rule!

Wow, looks like I finally can answer the question I asked when that Samsung executive quoted those fantastic growth projections. [I apologize that I no longer have a reference to site for everyone] "Do you think anyone actually believes these numbers?" I guess I found someone. jh
