Most Canadian brokers offer margin , when options started. I've been buying mine with 30% cash

I have yet to hear of any change to BII's 70% margin ability.

Under TSE rules this is what an option eligible stock receives...changing the rules here would send out a bad signal...NASDAQ does not change margin rules at whim nor do its member dealers. I believe that shorting BII may become a problem however.
