Hi to you all:
I am also a believer and think that RNWK is a solid company. I am a daytrader but RNWK was one of the few stocks that I had as a long term investment. I sold just below 100 not too long ago, and have been calculating the money that I left on the table every day since then.

Although I have no doubt about the company's performance and products, I have a few concerns. First, if BCST is picked up by Yahoo, the out look of the market will be changed a little. Second, CMGI has dedicated a substantial amount of money to get into this part of the industry. Lastly, MSFT has made a lot of progress and has released its new version of whatever it is called.
Hence, my concern is whether RNWK can become the market leader and set the standard without the help of a powerful friend. I really wanted to see a joint venture or some type of agreement with AOL or one of the media boys.
What do you guys think?
I feel this is the time that this portion of industry will adopt and set a market standard.

The net congestion on my DSL connection cleared before the launch, so I got to see it rising. I thought it was pretty nifty, and a great example of how Real's technology can be used. To see a live picture from the middle of the Pacific Ocean, thousands of miles from the nearest land mass is impressive, even if they were pumping it out at a max of 56Kbps.

This is the kind of thing that a TV network just isn't going to cover, but a company like Boeing can go it alone and show it off to their potential clients as a kind of video press release.

Bongagong,

I am trying to understand how the streaming media viewing and listening experience is affected by cable modems. You mentioned that your cable modem did not help much as far as viewing Boeing's SeaLaunch is concerned due to congestion. Would it be fair to say that your cable modem has not affected the congestion factor at all? How is the experience of streaming media affected by cable modems?
Do you get noticably improved video (near 30 frame per second quality)? Does it improve the audio fidelity of sound/music? What other differences have you noticed in accessing streaming media with cable modem versus 28/56kbps modem?

Do you have much experience with MP3 music files? Could you compare the MP3 experience in cable modem versus 28/56kbps as well?

Thanks for your indulgence ;-)

Sam
