I said it before, and I'll say it again. I saw some serious shortselling going on the day Edelstone was "pounding the table." No doubt there are more shares short now than two weeks ago. Much of the shortselling imo was being done by those already short to protect their positions in the face of what could have been a reversal of recent weakness. Unlike previous bouts with the shorts, this is NOT mom and pops, but rather deeper pockets. What are they betting on? You can get a sense of what it is from reading this board which is filled with the fearful rhetoric of those who sense that RMBS is faltering. And to the extent that RMBS is languishing in the low 60s, the campaign is succeeding. I agree with Zeev that the assault is not yet completed. Although I would have expected more of a drop on Friday. Perhaps this coming Thursday will allow us to see yet another phase of the assault. My experience is that it occurs during moments of market vulnerability and low volume. Thursday could be such a day. That said, I am long RMBS with no intention of selling any of my shares. Because when the covering does occur, it will be dramatic, sharp and particularly painful for the mom and pops who probably actually believe RMBS won't be the coming DRAM standard. FWIW, this is one trader's perspective.

Al,

As the shorts become more desperate, look for more negative articles to appear.

Are you saying that the shorts have some sort of influence over what and when something is reported!?

NSOL is under short attack and the shorter himself put out a negative report, but I do not quite understand how the shorts can influence a journalist/reporter to put out a negative report?

Have I missed something? If this happened, it would be blatent stock manipulation. I am a cynic, but don't think a RMBS short position is that important to someone, BWDIK.
