Why would FTC care about Intel's movement into the backbone? There does not seem to be any collusion there to raise any eyebrows.

Did FTC question Cisco when they bought Stratacom a few years ago?

Intel's presence in networking, at this time, is small.

Also, Intel's picking up of Fore may raise some market-vigilant FTC eyebrows as it may indicate Intle is intent on expanding their networking market from edge products.

Given the size of the players in this part of the networking biz and the rapid trend towards consolidation, I can't imagine the FTC having any problems with an INTC/FORE marriage. Companies like CSCO, LU, NT, Alcatel arent' exactly the Sisters of the Poor...
