Wave was partnered with Cendant for its software division to meter some its games. I believe CD sold that division off though, am I right?

The 23 million is obviously for something, but if it is for a credit card type project is not clear. What doesn't make sense to me is that Embassy was designed to work with credit cards. That is how Wave will avoid fraud. If they already have your money then you will be less likely to attempt fraud. Embassy in essence already turns credit card purchases into debit card purchases by consolidating all of ones microtransactions and debiting that total charge from one's "balance."
That's what makes it convenient and safe for the customer, content provider, and Wave.

If Wave were to align with a money-center bank or two then clients of those institutions could link their Embassy account to their checking account and therefore simplify the process by avoiding having to charge their Embassy balance to their credit card and then paying their credit card balance with a cheque from their checking account.

What I am saying is that a "credit card venture," if true, would be short-sighted and I don't believe the Spragues are short-sighted. They were five years ahead of the industry. I am not saying David is lying, I am saying that, if true, either I am misunderstanding David or David may be misunderstanding the "project."

JMHO,

Sophie

Shedding Some Light On An RB (Ryanscott) Poster's Post...

There is a theory being floated about Sarnoff/Wave DOCSIS/Thomson (RCA), so here's an interesting, though old, link worth looking at
and comparing with... (WAVX is not mentioned)

rca-electronics.com

For whatever it's worth...

In The Long Run...

What an interesting day. Posts that read like gravediggers commenting on strokes. The 5M-share sale that wasn't (or was it?). Elvis sold, Judge Crater bought, that's all I know.

Some hot money has run off like hot money does. My money is cold money. Cold money in SEEK. Now, cold money here. Funny how some "marriages" just work out. Had I followed TX-style advice on SEEK, I'd've never more than "octupled" my investment in the course of a year. And, yes, there were times that every second poster, it seemed, had TX-style advice re: not getting "married to your stock." And, unfortunately, some folks listened.

Today was a lesson day. Did we get the lesson? Rampant and wild-ass speculation should be held to a minimum. Connecting the dots is a fun mental exercise, but, with this stock, THE DOTS ARE FRICKING EVERYWHERE, friends. The Spragues have got their fingers in so many pies: encryption, content distribution, secure transactions, music publishing, software rentals, smart cards, STBs, etc. There are seeming millions of potential partners and ways for WAVX to grow.

I will not comment on last night's tragicomedy regarding HP. Just remember, going forward, HP knows how to describe WAVX. They've done it before. And will do it again. And if the words HP chooses (carefully, I might add) don't completely fit what WAVX is... move on.
Connecting the dots is a fun game. And there are plenty of dots open to connection. But, ignoring fully half of a description because it doesn't fit AT ALL with WAVX will only lead to disappointment. Every time.

Right now, we're in a news trough. We're waiting for re-listing. And presuming that once we're back on the main stage, there will be lots of new stuff trotted out. Re-listing is factored into the price.
The possible new stuff isn't... well, not much, at least. However, it's at times like these that I have recourse to WHAT I KNOW. I know HAUP is in the process of happening. I know that HP is real: though their divvying themselves up into 4 autonomous enterprises each with its own CEO and own alliances is a bit unsettling for now. And I know that the CLIMATE is right for us. Never have I seen so many articles about privacy, secure transactions, micropayments, etc. (And it's not just because I'm invested here and looking, either.) And I know that it doesn't hurt to have Gilder, in essence, campaigning for us. And Metcalfe periodically checking in for published updates on the progress of vision to execution.

Best Regards,

c m
