Didn't cablevision just lose the contract for the ny yankees and nba team broadcast when the contract runs out? Is there another cable company in nyc area?

Hiram- Thanks for the link. As an @Home investor, I want the bad news as well as the good. This should be yet another wake-up call for @Home management and affiliated cable companies.

I do think, however, that @Home investors are willing to look the other way at the present time. Complaints from subscribers have been taking place for a long time, and we know how the stock has reacted. It has gone straight up! Investors (IMHO) realize that these complaints are a result of growing pains. Not too long ago AOL was going through the same thing. Their name was once mud and now it is GOLD. Wall Street rarely breathes a bad word about that AOL anymore.

Let's hope that @Home (in the future) does a better job of addressing subscriber and cable company complaints. There is nothing to help a company better than "excellent" customer service.

As far as Cablevision and Comcast dropping @Home? I think it would be a huge mistake on their part, and I don't believe it will happen.

BTW, what is your position with ATHM?

It looks like the Yahoo merger is going to give @Home a boost today!

Ed

Hiram / Thread: Re: T1 vs. cablenetwork: Would someone please clarify the difference in transfer rates/ speed between a (fiberoptic) cable network such as @Home's (which is intended for "home" service), and T1 lines offered by the phone companies mainly to businesses. What's the service price difference; and is it possible (or even imminent)that the two services could compete in the home (particularly areas with lots of apartment blocks: Manhattan) or business markets? Thanks in advance.
