WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 16, 1999-- Franklin Telecom (AMEX:FCM) Friday announced that it has named Ron Weaver vice president of Worldwide Sales for Franklin Telecom and FNet Corp., Franklin's IP telephony and Internet subsidiary.
Weaver is based at company headquarters in Westlake Village.
James Magruder has left to pursue other interests. As part of additional restructuring within FNet, Peter Buswell, president and chief operating officer of Franklin Telecom, is now acting chief operating officer of FNet.
Franklin's chairman and chief executive officer, Frank Peters, commented: "In nine months, Peter Buswell has achieved phenomenal results in jump-starting sales and revenues for Franklin. I don't know of anyone more capable of creating the same success at FNet.
"Ron Weaver is Peter's handpicked partner for this endeavor -- indeed, Peter's attitude, after coaxing Weaver onto the team, could only be described as gleeful."
Weaver comes to Franklin from NeTrue Communications, where he was vice president of World Wide Sales and actively involved in the sale and deployment of NeTrue's global VoIP network.
In addition to his extensive sales and marketing experience in the telecommunications field, Weaver is an accomplished author, contributing frequently to industry publications. During the last several years, he has been in demand throughout the world as a keynote speaker at both trade shows and industry associations. He is scheduled to continue these appearances during the coming year.
Weaver stated: "I am excited by the synergy that FTC and FNet bring to each other and to the marketplace. My task is to see that everyone who can benefit from our products and services knows about them. Once they know us and examine our products, we have the flexibility to tailor both the products and services to meet their requirements.
"The relationship between Franklin Telecom and FNet is unique and gives us a definite edge. My job is to exploit it!"
