Hi Colin,

I hope I don't go over things you've already checked but here are some suggestions. Switch to NT if you haven't already. Increase your swap file size to at least 2 to 3 times your RAM size (I have 64 MB and use a 350 MB page file). Try switching the positions of your RAM modules. Lastly, your processor is unable to cache more than 64MB of memory so having more than that will slow your machine down a little bit. There have been reports over the years that using more than 64MB with some machines has caused instability (a call to Kingston confirmed this). Upgrading to Pentium II or above takes care of this but, admittedly, this is a major upgrade.

Regards,

Paul Kaz

Colin

Hope I've not led you into you more problems suggesting more RAM, but that is what I would have done in your situation, to try and cure the problem.

Good luck
Bill
