Now why on earth would I want to use a STOP LIMIT. Ouch. Seems to negate the purpose of the stop. Wow. Well, maybe I will have to think on that for a bit.

Xpresstrade only does stop limit on E-mini, and I use it and never have had a fill missed. I suspect with electronic systems stop limits may work better, as you don't have someone on the floor doing the moves and so they may be smaller. Also you have a much easier job if you have to go back and claim a fill.

I would never use a stop limit unless I wanted to buy into a running market but didn't want to pay more than the limit price, kinda dumb I think..... in fact, I can't even think of an example of when it becomes necessary.....
