Interesting article on ABC News Go Network:

abcnews.go.com

Comment: Companies seeking to enter consumer market or broaden market share by increasing sales to consumers are going to find the market crowded and made up of diverse products in the next few years.

[note: Relevant to DELL in that even they are discussing the trends; not particularly relevant to this quarter's earnings or even this year's, IMO.]

OT* Time to get a replacement for my Latitude XPi 120. I don't particularly like touchpads, but quite a few machines have them (or sticks). Very few have the trackball.

Best ideas so far: Sony PCG-F160, IBM Thinkpad i1451 or i1721, Dell Inspiron 3500 (300 Celeron w/13.3 & SBE). Not a road warrior and 98% of time spent connected to AC. Light database work, spreadsheet, wp and 80%-90% internet work. Suggestions?

I still feel DELL is the BEST of the computer box companies,
but have learned over the last 30 years that I can only
the trend. And right now DELL's trend is DOWN.
