<<Go re-watch (you HAVE watched it, haven't you??) Lion in Winter, especially the scene with King Henry and Louis of France. >>

I can't say that I have.

<<Then tell me again, what does winning mean in Yugoslavia?>>

I don't think I defined what winning would be so why don't you enlighten me with your thoughts.

May I jump in at this stage, Mr Hodgkin?
Re: Then tell me again, what does winning mean in Yugoslavia?

First, tell us what did winning mean in Iraq? I mean: Saddam's still parading around in Baghdad, he's a modern hero for the Arab masses...
Iraq's been flung back into cave-man age... Iraqi civilians were hardly hit by the US-enforced embargo; yet the Saudi kingdom is shaky and unstable; Kuwait has not recovered as far as political clout goes...
And finally, Iran is as powerful as ever and has reemerged as a prominent ''power broker'' in the region. So, tell us what hundreds of US soldiers died for in the 1991 Gulf War?
