JM,

From a technology perspective there is big battle brewing between cable technology, DSL (and ADSL). Some think that cellular will play a role in this battle, but I don't think that the cellular technology is ready for data yet. Anyway, DSL is more expensive to deploy than cable. It is apparent to me that T is going after cable aggressively, while WCOM is going after DSL.

Of the three technologies mentioned above, T has a presence in all three, DSL being the weakest. It seems to me that WCOM is betting on DSL. WCOM is in good company with MSFT, CPQ and others pushing ADSL.

I think ~5 years from now, cellular will rule. DSL, cable... is just a temporary solution until the cellular technology matures.

I am long WCOM.
