Here we must give credit to AMD: with their resources ($ but especially man), being able to put together a product like the K7 is downright amazing. Does not make me like the company overall much better though, nor does it mean they will be able to produce the thing.

I heard that AMD hired a lot of Digital engineers who did not want to work for CPQ? Is this true?

Yeah, but the Soviet Union had the Secret Police and the KGB to take away the mentally ill. On SI, the mentally ill are still free to post their thoughts on the board.
