SO, regarding possible breakouts: amzn, which i trade regularly, has broken out to a new high today. keep in mind that this is *the* e-commerce leader. like i said, this advance looks like a candidate for a blow-off top, in which case people will indeed in retrospect be amazed at how far it actually went. at some point of course the mother of all bear markets will follow, like night follows day. in the meantime though, barton biggs may get even more befuddled...<gggg>

regards,

hb

SO: My interpretation of the way the pattern has developed is that it could indeed break to the upside which would ultimately cause rates to drop propelling this market higher.

Where do you see rates going, below the Oct 5, 1998 low?

Regards,
LG

StockOperator,

>>>> I think that when this move is done and the correction begins many will be blown away by just how high things eventually went. <<<<

Not to be argumentative, but the reverse will also hold true, and may
be worse, since it is common that the downside is faster once it starts. Specificly talking from this point onwards, sure those who are overly bearish may lose out on another 500-1000 points, but keep
in mind that even though the NAZ has rebounded it lost 300 points in only a few days which is equal to over 1200 DOW points.

For just the sake of this discussion, lets say that the NAZ continued to sell off, how many was able to get out during that period. This is
only for discussion. Frankly speaking if a strong bear market was to start right now, I believe that many would not get out until 7400 was broken to the downside, in light of such strong buy on dip mentality.

I am talking about the average investor not the more experienced traders here on SI. I do feel that most here would be able to get out before it got that bad, at least I hope.
