It is exactly because the minority does have a relevant opinion that our ancestors came to this country three hundred years ago.

I can understand your position in the context of a rape, incest or if the mother's life is endangered by the pregancy. However, if as an example my wife becomes pregnant I believe my opinion is very relevant as to what happens to the baby. After all, it does take two to tango in most normal conceptions. Certainly I would more than likely defer to her wishes in the matter as the pregancy requires much more "heavy lifting" on her part. However, a blanket statement that my opinion is irrelevant is not based in fact or logic. Marriage is a compact and the best way to break the compact is to have one party making decisions of relative importance without consulting the other. For instance, I am self employed, but I would not dream of closing up business and taking another job without consulting my wife. She's part of the equation too. This is the toxicity of the strident, hairy-legged feminism which is espoused by the likes of Looney Cooney, et al. It drives a wedge into the heart of the family unit, a husband and wife. Now your wife may consider your opinion irrelevant in this matter but I am thankful mine does not. The real strength and the real bonding in a marriage between a man and a woman comes from SHARING decisions, joys and sorrows. The sharing eases the burden of difficult matters and doubles the happiness from the good ones. Pardon me for being so serious so early on a Monday morning, but IMO you are dead wrong about this situation. Guess we'll have to agree to disagree again. <g> Have a good week. JLA
