Mike, You might want to try rising ADX for a trending indicator. +30 and rising = trending. Flat or dropping = range. Also look at average daily range as a volatility indicator. Volume by itself really doesn't affect most volatility readings. That's probably a good thing with blue chips, where block trades may not tell the technician's story. Alan
