Benny,

I echo your opinions, but... I wonder how many CheckFree investors outside of the dedicated posters and readers of this thread and the Yahoo thread would vote against a $90/share buyout.

I myself, in all honesty, would be tempted to cash in the 1000's of shares in my IRA which would basically allow me to retire at a much earlier age then currently planned.

If the tender offer came to me by proxy, I would vote against it, but I sure as hell would be tempted by the instant profit potential of 90 dollars a share.

Sam (also in my very humble opinion)

have to vent my frustrations with the Yahoo! rumors.

I too am very frustrated with all that crap.
One thought doesn't leave me alone. Yahoo never announced that they are planning to have "Pay Bills", or whatever it's called, button on its Web site, but they couldn't, or didn't want, deny that they are in negotiations with CF.
Accordingly Yahoo, and CF for that matter, couldn't deny or confirm any information regarding the subject of negotiations. Reporters could ask them with the same degree of success if they are planning a flight to Mars or run for U.S. presidency in the next elections.
Chances are quite good that someone abused the situation and a few days from now rumors will be completely fogotten.
Just my humble guess.

For giggles, look at NITE and RNWK who both control about 80 percent of the infrastructure of their respective segments.
