Hi pals, Carolyn congrats you just got a classic spam reply promising a future reply which may or may not be a reply to your question! We might get lucky if this time AOL won't be a disappointment.
This weekend, still with the Homefront Dilemna....in the aftermath of rumors and spins, none of the students know what and who to believe about whatever it was went on. They're faced with a landslide of information overload as they try to assess the possibility of a threat to their lives from their fellow students at their school. My teen grokked it when I pointed that in any group crisis - a decision made by one person according to their personality and viewpoint is interpreted by another, implemented by another according to the exigencies of that moment, then talked about by others to others to others all with the opinion and confusion spins riding along... and that the resulting disinformation isn't necessarily deliberate it's just a matter of so many viewpoints and opinions (sort of like Techriders trying to figure out if a stock is a good investment)...needing to feel love for all who bravely work at schools in times like these and do the best they can do. So we're being calm this weekend, while talking seriously about what what's Her Next Best Move, and she knows I'm here to fully Back-Up whatever next direction she chooses. My Old Folks gave us Their Specialty - some good non-PC advice that we're keeping in mind, "While an education is of utmost importance, a parent's top priority is to keep the children out of harm's way." So we're talking about choices while keeping survival in mind along with goals, we shall see what we come up with.
Pals,
Joanie
