Thanks for the overview, Cash. That only leaves "position trading" undefined.

I'm "practicing" trading options in a small account and my aim is to be in and out in as few days as possible. I'm happy to pull the occasional intraday trade, and uncomfortable to hold a position over more than a week or two. So I guess you know what that makes me (besides poorer! <G>).

Working strictly in cash, I don't see the margin consequences of overnight holdings that you do. So the need to distinguish between day trading and swing trading blurs a bit.
