Okay, here's a test.

In the past week, how many of you who have families (defined here as two parents and one or more children) spent at least one consecutive hour in the past week doing an activity (other than eating a meal) together. This could be gardening, watching a movie or TV show all together, reading a book or play aloud, playing a game (not watching one person play a video game, but playing Clue, or Monopoly, or Trivial Pursuit, or Bridge, or anything similar) or going for a walk all together. Okay, how many families did that for at least one hour within the last week? And what was the activity?

E, I said I never owned a TV until 1966. I have had one ever since. I also said I watch TV rarely. But I do watch it occasionally (although no sitcoms). And I still think there are a lot of people in that category.
