To me, I find it incredulous that the CIA couldn't find the Chinese embassy listed in the belgrade phone book. Those that take the view that the targeting was an accident must believe either:
1.Our military and political command structure is incredibly inept(then why are we there with leaders like that?)
2.They are lying to us but it's ok

A mistake is the least plausible of all explanations.

Lehrer was incredulous that the Chinese might think the bombing of the Embassy could have been deliberate. But it could have been. It's possible - certainly the Chines must doubt the official explanation - the building was isolated and should not have been targeted.

Who could blame him.

I'm frankly incredulous myself that the Chinese choose to encourage their people to PURPOSEFULLY violate and damage US territory in Bejing, effectively holding the US ambassador hostage in our embassy there. So apparently the Chinese are just as willing to flagrantly violate territorial integrity by encouraging stone-throwing mobs, while condemning the US action (for which we have apologized).

I'm also incredulous that the Chinese had not reported the US apologies for the bombing in their news services until today.

Don't you think the Chinese might be trying to milk this for all they can??

I don't have a problem with people being angry over this accident, but I do have a problem with Bejing trying to manipulate it so blatantly for such petty gains. Should these demonstrations continue to get out of hand when the victims are returned tomorrow, it could lead to actions by the west to forment problems that would make Tianimen square look like a college pep rally.

Regards,

Ron
