Ah, memories. Old Time Woodman's Fly Dope. BUT they changed it about 20 years ago. It used to be tar-based, or at least seemed like it. Sticky, black as night, stunk to high heaven, wouldn't wash off, blacked the inside of your sleeping bag and stained your clothes, and worked like a champ. Mosquitos, black flies, nothing got through it. But when it started becoming popular they went to a lighter formula, amber colored, much ligher smell, washed out of clothes, which still worked better than Off and those civilized products but didn't have the same lasting power, smell, or ability to fend off the black flies as the pure old stuff. I sure miss the old gunk.
