Jerry, I told you my averages in general.

I use various ones depending on the time frames but I always have a backup screen that pinpoints 8, 34, 55.

On 1 minute I use this, on 2 minute I use that, on 3, on 5, on 10, on 30 and so on they are all different.

But my fallback is 8, 34, 55 on the Primary Charts.

THE Primary Chart is the 5 minute chart. I look at all of them, all different time frames, all different moving averages...and then before I make a trade I look at the 5 minute with the 8, 34, 55.

But I don't use MAs to make my decision for me, I use them to give me a degree of confidence in the trade. I think you are looking for a Silver Bullet. All many of these things are is just a reassurance indicator. The more stuff in your favor, the better.

I'm quite sure that you could trade successfully off crossovers on a 5 minute bar. But generally speaking it's just a tool to lend you an impression of direction.
