I don't disagree with your assessment that DELL needs to put out some PR about growth of the business, future projects, etc.

But I disagree, in a 'semantics' sense, with your choice of the word "gloat". 'Gloating' is synonymous with 'bragging', and but a degree off from 'hyping'.

Investor suits have been solicited by law firms over the most frivolous of matters. Look at just about any company's Yahoo messages. Someone loses $2 a share and figures the company has to pay for 'their misconduct'.

So 'gloating' is your word that I was picking on. 'Gloating' that misses the target will end up in court.

As far as needing more activity from Dell's IR/PR folks, I agree with your comments.

Actually, IBM gapped up 23 the day after earnings because their earnings were 'way above' what the analysts had predicted. They also had growth in the hardware sector that was a fairly significant surprise compared to what was expected. So it's really not all 'Gerstner talk'...
