Has any traditional bricks & mortar company come on the internet late and crushed the dominant pure net plays in the industry?? MSFT couldn't knock AOL, Barnes & Noble failed against AMZN, big media cos. lost to Yahoo, etc., etc.

I'm sure MER will totally fail to EGRP. Too little, too late. And don't forget, MER is probably the worst investment bank with the least intelligent human talent.

In this wonderful world of internet, time lead is everything. I am not sure if MER can solve the scalability and reliability problems as a STARTUP OLB that other existing OLBs have been trying for at least for some time. I still think this industry will eventually become oligopoly. It kind of reminds me IBM and Microsoft in the early 80s. IBM let Microsoft loose and see what happens now. The chase from behind is going to be very tough.

MER could crush EGRP if they proved to everyone that they can provide reliable access and
professional customer service...

Yes, all that is fine, but are you gonna pay $30 bucks/trade instead of $15? Or $8 or $5?
