rudedog,
I picked up a rumor about a major announce to be made this month. It might involve Microsoft? Have you heard anything? Can you speculate for us?

RD,

Thanks for the clarification on the Pesatori story. You're right, my old boss apparently didn't mesh well with Pesatori, and as a result, has carried a bad opinion of him for several years now. Since I think a lot of the old boss, I simply accepted his viewpoint without any further research--I gladly stand corrected in this matter.

Regards,

JMaz

rudedog,

Re: the management changes....

>>Capellas was previously senior vice president and chief information officer overseeing worldwide management information systems activities.

Considering that CPQ, touted as a enterprise systems solutions provider, does not have a fully integrated managment/financial system with which to run their own railroad and seem to have a very difficult time getting a grasp on qtr. numbers (even post facto) has this guy really been successful--especially enough to get "promoted?" His former company, ORCL, seems to essentially have the same problems.

Do you have any insights?? Thanks.

rudedog. Re: "probably one of the reasons that Rose left." Were you surprised/disappointed that Rose left? OTOH you mentioned he was the architect of strategy to move CPQ up the enterprise (Tandem/DEC). OTOH wasn't he in charge of the (mis)integration?

Do you think he could turn up as the HP CEO?

With the new COO are they adding a new layer, after eliminating one a month or so ago? I'm confused.
