VISIO Corp (VSIO): Big ISO 9000 Play

Emcee:  Dan Spillane Type:  Unmoderated
A recent IPO, Visio Corporation is capitalizing on several key global trends. The first of these is the "Intranet" trend, where corporations are placing large amounts of graphical data on their web-based networks. The best tool for this job is the Visio technical drawing package...in fact, large diagrams and object relationships actually *require* Visio software for practical purposes.

Even more interesting, Visio software is critically important to a trend which is taking companies (both domestically and internationally) by storm. Specifically, many companies are implementing the ISO 9000 process...indeed, many will soon be *required* to be ISO 9000 compliant in order to do business at all.

Guess what? The first step in implementing ISO 9000 is to document, analyze, and refine all the workflow within a company. What tool is almost everyone using for this? You guessed it: VISIO. I'm serious...check it out at your own company or call around.

As more companies are required to become ISO 9000 compliant, VISIO site licenses will be purchased everywhere. In fact, VISIO is sort of like a "Year 2000" play, but unlike those companies, the need for ISO standardization will last well into the next century and not expire on December 31st, 1999.
