Struthers Inc. is a company with hugh potential. Do your DD as I have and see for yourself. A good place to start is at the company's website at struthers.org . Here's some information to get started. The Struthers name has been recognized in the swine industry for over 40 years. It was Struthers Inc., the licensor, working in conjuction with the University of Toronto and Dr. David McLennan, that first identified the mutation of the DNA sequence that causes Porcine Stress Syndrome (PSS). Struthers Inc. established the first herd to be declared PSS free and the first to be licensed with the HAL 1843 NM Trade Mark. In the process of eliminating the gene, Struthers increased lean meatyield in their genetic strain of hogs, as opposed to decreasing yields associated with eliminating the M.H. gene. Struthers genetics became recognized as superior in the field, and today, Struthers' core business comes from the development and production of services and products designed to increase efficiency and meat production in the swine industry. Struthers, through its license agreement, offers producers and processors a better meat hog with average lean yields in excess of 60%. Struthers genetics will be available in live animal sales, semen sales and through embryo transfer. Artifical insemination is currently the leading genetic selection method, but it takes seven years to create a totally new blood line. Embryo transfer is a much more efficient process, requiring only one generation to create a totally new blood line, in about four months. Embryo transfer is the removal of an embryo from a genetically superior animal, and introducing it into a surrogate host. This has been done in other large animals commercially, but has never successful in hogs due to their intricate physiological makeup. Struthers Inc., is the first company in the world to develop a procine embryo trasfer technology which is commercially viable. This technology can revolutionaize the hog industry. Struthers' proprietary strage process enables the embryos to be stored and transported to practically anywhere in the world for sucessful implementation in surrogate host aniamls. * The single largest concern for producers in replacing breeding stock is the threat of introducing new desease to its herds. Embyro transfers minimize this concern. * Fastest method available of upgrading herd genetics-one generation! * A superior method of utilizing existing breeding stock to best advantage. * Quickest returns to breeders. * First company in the world to develop and obtain a license agreement to access embryo transfer technology which is commercially viable. * Ability to sell quality embyros in all major markets worldwide due to the innovative process which keeps embryos alive for up to 3 days after harvest. * From a producer's perspective, embryos offer significant advantages over Artificial insemination(AI) methods: * quicker change in bloodline * no quarantine requirements * minimal pathogen transfer * reduced cost for transportation * excellent fertilization rate * economically priced * dicease free * lean yields in excess of 60% * Ability to improve the genetic makeup of producers' herds. * Exploit the market in North America while there is no direct competition. The opportunity, the innovation, the plan and the returns are realistic. The project's proprietary knowledge will push Struthers Inc. to the forefront of the leading service(genegtics) for the largest meat sector(pork) in North America. The embyro transfer technology is in its infancy stage but is bound to have a signifiicant impact on the industry. The growth potential is extremely high. Currently, there is no known company in the world capable o ftransferring swine embyros. This implies that direct competition to Struthers Inc. is nonexistent. Struthers Inc. will compete against other products(live animals, semen) in this arena. Its competitors vary in size from small independent breeding stations to large enterprises including DeKalb(US), PIC(International) and Dallard(Holland). | ||||||||||||||
