TRANSACT TECHNOLOGIES INC. Wallingford, Connecticut Printer Manufacturer Betting On Global Market The company makes dot matrix and laser printers that pound out gaming, automated teller and other receipts when reliability, not price, is often the prime selling point. Transact designs and builds its Ithaca brand printers around a component kit supplied by Okidata. Under the 1996 agreement, Oki Europe became the exclusive distributor of Transact's point-of-sale and kiosk printers in Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. Transact sells primarily in the U.S. and Canada, with overseas sales producing 4% of revenues in 1996. But through the distribution agreement with Okidata, the company is targeting 20% of revenues from international sales in 1997. Any and all thoughts appreciated. DD | ||||||||||||||
