It's about time someone got a thread going on First Union. I will volunteer to start it if others will keep it going.

I can contribute the following unverified information: I have a high placed connection who tells me that earnings for the quarter ended June 30, 1997 are going to be really good. This person says the money is rolling in, so with the stock split at the end of July and the increase in dividend announced for September, this stock is primed to fly. Earnings are scheduled to be released July 11th, I believe.

Disclosure: I have purchased August 100 call options in anticipation of the stock rising.
