All interested biotech investors listen up!!
Biotechnology stocks over the next decade and beyond should be asset considerations for anyones investment protfolio. With FDA drug approvals increasing to record levels from here on out and the FDA easing the process, the prospects of finding the next Amgen increase manifold.
We all know that the process of discovering a biotech product and getting it to market is long and tedious not to mention the cash burn involved. Many companies however, are entering periods where they are in middle/late-stage trials which enhances visibility on the companies prospects.
Personally, over the past few weeks I've made a killing on biotechs such as Cel-Sci Corp (HIV), Genzyme Transgenics (GZTC), and Centocor (CNTO). Obviously the group as a whole has come more into favor in the market and personally I believe this to be the start of a rampage in biotech issues as they begin to put their products where their mouth was and begin generating cash-flow from operations. Money talks and B.S. walks, the old saying goes and there is ALOT of B.S. these companies try to throw at us. We need to validate the B.S. and how the company shapes up for the future and evaluate if it is worth the risk.
On this thread, I'd like to present one stock on a weekly basis (First Business day of the week) and then for the next 2 weeks have all paricipants pick this company apart limb by limb through discussion, links to peritent info, technical analysis, and anything else (of course in keeping with the law). At the end of the period I'd like to get a consensus on price targets with time-ranges. A list will then be compiled and every week again, will be updates to previous selections and if necessary a whole other period will be devoted to disseminating info and stats to see how we should perhaps reevaluate the investment. If the drivers and dynamics for the stock remain in place, we will move on to present another stock and initiate the process again.
This thread is not for hype but for serious investors who understand the risk inherent in Biotechs and how this risk can be mitigated through timely info and insight. This thread will work for both Bulls and Bears (long and short plays) and can also involve timely option trading on issues that are optionable. From time to time, also I think it would be nice to reevaluate the Biotech industry as a whole going through the same process as would be done with a particular stock.
  Good Luck and Good Trading,
Together we can profit from stellar returns biotech offers, while mitigating the inherent risk of the micro and small cap sector.
