Check-it-out: Apertus Technologies is a $55 million communications / data integration software company. Their best skills seem to be integrating legacy (read old, obsolete) data systems in large networks in growing corporations, and providing centralized systems management products. There is always a demand for integrating existing data systems with newer systems - companies have too much invested in their old data systems to chuck them. APTS was trading at $11-15 back in September-October '95, but delay of 2 much-anticipated products, and lower-than-expected net income results for fiscal 96 caused a crash in share price into the $3-4 range. However, APTS fundamentals look STRONG; they have purchased another company with existing market (BlueLine Software) for $5 million, and this accounted for some of the reduction in net income. They are in the 20-30% growth range, and their new products should ensure similar continued performance. They were a strong BUY at $12/share; I think they look way-good at $3.25/share. Check 'em out for yourself, and good luck. | ||||||||||||||
