Benchmark Electronics, Inc. provides contract manufacturing services to original equipment manufacturers in the electronics
industry, including medical devices, telecommunications equipment, test and instrumentation, high-end computer, industrial
controls.

The company was founded in 1979 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Intermedics, Inc. In 1990, an initial public offering was
made. In 1996, Benchmark Electronics, Inc. acquired EMD Associates, Inc. which is now Benchmark Electronics, INC.
Winona Division. The combining of these companies puts Benchmark Electronics, Inc. in the top tier of electronic
manufacturing services industry (EMSI) providers.
