With Southeast Asia crashing this past year and Latin Amercia on the verge of crashing, this presents an excellent buying opportunity for those interested in scooping up some great companies at dirt cheap prices. Just look what happened to Chinese, Korean, Indonesian ADRs over the past year and a half. Many of them are down more than 80%. Just recently Telebras (TBR) of Brazil was cut in half. My question is when is it a good time to buy these and even if it is too early right now can some of these stocks be successfully traded over the short term. Some of my favorite stocks and some of which I have recently owned include KEP, PAP, HKT, SHI, CEA, BYH, PKX, SKM, ZNH and TBR, but please feel free to discuss any stock from any other country but the U.S. I hope to hear all about your experiences owning and trading ADRs so we can all learn the rewards and pitfalls of investing in ADRs, especially ADRs from countries whose stock markets have already crashed or are about to crash. Any opinions on when this global financial crisis will end are also welcome.
