With its recent acquisition of NETSCAPE and alliance with SUN, AOL has become the Internet sector bellweather stock similar to stocks in other sectors like Microsoft, Dell, Intel, Cisco. It does belong to the WEB/INFORMATION category even though in its early days it was categorized as a Information stock.
