I have discovered there are a number of companies developing and selling their proprietary compression technologies that help reduce file size and data transmission over networks. This thread will deal primarily with compression for data transmission over networks by some of the lesser known early stage participants: Some of these companies are well known, particularly RealNetworks with a market cap over $2 billion. No doubt CSCO and others have many patents and products that play a role here. Some smaller players with possibly breakthrough technology that could significantly impact the status quo are OTC:BB stocks and in the headlines lately: quote.yahoo.com SFLK Softlink, inc. sonk.com (recent deal with Japan's NIC) HSNS High Speed Network Solutions (wavelet technology license & current negotiations with major ISP) EDIG e.Digital corp. edig.com (relationship with INTC, & others;numerous patents announced Surely there are others, and their inclusion here is welcomed.
